The transition towards a more circular built environment, businesses, and industries requires more than ambition. It needs better evidence, smarter tools, and decisions that consider the full life cycle of what we build.

At the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026, CSTEP, in collaboration with UnTrash and ETH Zurich, is hosting an Accelerator Session exploring how circularity, life cycle thinking, and digital innovation can turn data into action.

From mapping where emissions and resources are concentrated to using tools like GIS, digital twins, material databases, and digital material passports, the session titled Accelerating Circularity and Digital Innovation for the Built Environment will look at how better data can lead to smarter policy and investment decisions; support more sustainable design and procurement; improve transparency; and enable more circular decisions across products, businesses, and value chains.

The conversation will bring together policymakers, researchers, industry, and practitioners across three key themes:
