Received this email from Abhishek of Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies:
"This month’s learning session will be hosted by Dhaval Udani, CEO and Founder of Danamojo on the topic, Strategies for Retail Fundraising.
When: 3:00 to 4:30 pm on Tue, June 27
To register: https://forms.gle/Biwpqa9FwYtigevNA (calendar invite will be shared closer to the session)
What: An interactive 90-min session on challenges, learnings, and opportunities that can help your organization build the retail fundraising muscle.
Why: Retail fundraising is a blind spot for more than 70% of NGOs in the country. We believe that it is a huge untapped opportunity and here’s why:
- 84% of 836 million adults in India give at least once a year according to the India Giving Report 2020 by CAF
- Individual Giving has grown faster than Corporate Giving in 3 of the last 5 years
- Retail giving is expected to contribute about 29% of total private giving by FY 2027 according to the India Philanthropy Report 2023
While the data looks very promising, we acknowledge the realities on the ground where NGOs have limited bandwidth and resources, and thus the effort-to-return ratio is low with the retail fundraising avenue. However, we believe that with the right amount of handholding and support, NGOs can leverage this source better which will diversify their donor base and also provide them flexible long-term funding. This holds true irrespective of the nature of your work and this session will delve into how to scale retail fundraising based on the strengths of your organization.
Danamojo is also launching a program ‘danaVrddhi’ to help organizations set up systems and processes for retail fundraising (poster attached) - they will talk about it during the learning session.
Do join us & extend the invitation to your fundraising colleagues! Thank you. "
