Fields of View is delighted to be hosting “ಹೇಗೆ, ಏನು, ಎಷ್ಟು? | Hege, Yenu, Yeshtu: Reimagining Resilience” - a hands-on participatory workshop for exploring social protection measures towards building resilience to shocks among vulnerable communities.
This full day workshop will take place on the 18th of July, 2025, in Bangalore.
Context for the Workshop
Vulnerability is temporal and dynamic in nature. The vulnerability of a household depends on multiple factors, both internal – the health, income, and education status of household members – and external – shocks, availability of schemes, and access to livelihood opportunities.
However, social protection measures aimed at building resilience are currently designed using a siloed approach that does not always take this complexity of vulnerability into account. Grassroots organisations have access to rich community information that reflects this complexity. We want to build on that understanding in our engagement with resilience.
Objective of the Workshop
Through this collaborative workshop, participants will be able to:
-
quantify the vulnerability of their communities at the household level
-
simulate the effect of shocks and risks on household vulnerability
-
assess the efficacy of existing social protection measures to build resilience
-
reimagine social protection systems to strengthen resilience
Participants in the Workshop
The workshop will be attended by civil society organisations (CSOs), community-based organisations (CBOs), researchers, journalists, and other stakeholders in the vulnerability ecosystem who will use a simulation-based approach in building data-driven insights into resilience measures.
