Commons Convening 2024: A Milestone in Achieving Community-led Governance of India’s Shared Resources
From August 27-29, over 450 participants from over 20 Indian states gathered at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi for the Commons Convening 2024, a collaborative initiative for promoting community-led governance of India’s vital shared resources.
This three-day event united community leaders, policymakers, civil society, businesses, academia, and media professionals to spark new strategies for safeguarding the Commons. It was co-created by Common Ground, Foundation for Ecological Security (FES), Landstack, TISS Mumbai, UNDP India, and CoRe. Common Ground Partners like Vrutti, Wassan, CommonsTech Foundation, Platform Commons and other curated sessions and workshops to drive collaborative action.
With 62 stories published across national and regional platforms, the Convening reached a potential audience of 126 million people! Major media outlets like Times of India, Indian Express, and more featured in-depth coverage of this crucial event.
