Here are some key regulatory updates :point_down:t2:

:triangular_flag_on_post: The Government has invited public comments on draft notifications of Ecosensitive Zones for Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (U.P.), Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (U.P.), Daying Ering Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary (Arunachal Pradesh) and Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary (Kerala). Comments are invited to be submitted within a period of 60 days from the date of publication. Check out the newsletter to see more details for each notification.

A Few Highlights from MoEFCC’s Updates in Parliament (12–26 Feb 2026):

  • 516 Environmental Clearances and 3,482 Forest Clearances were granted by the MOEFCC in 2025.
  • 580 elephants were killed across the country between 2020–2025, with electrocution (73.96%) and train hits (13.62%) emerging as the leading causes.
  • States could utilise only ~80.35% of the ₹1,146 crore allocated for afforestation schemes with West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala utilising over 100% of their allocations.
