Youth Speak Out at SolveCon 2025: The Future They Want for Bengaluru

What’s on Young Minds Today?
At Reap Benefit’s recent SolveCon, we asked youth what is are their frustrations about Bangalore and what is their vision for the city.
Youth frustration is clear—and loud. Out of the voices we heard, here’s what’s keeping them up:

  • Traffic is THE problem — not just a nuisance
  • Chaotic growth and vanishing greenery
  • Rising costs of living and housing
  • Mental burnout, loss of empathy
  • Pollution, dust, and heat worsening daily life
  • Identity tensions — feeling like outsiders in their own city

But Frustration ≠ Hopelessness. It’s Insight.
Insights that can fuel solutions, and maybe policies.

Bengaluru 2035: A Vision Reimagined

Youth imagine a city that is:

  • Green and breathable, with lake revival and tree protection
  • Well-connected, where buses and cycles come before cars
  • Inclusive, with safe spaces for all to thrive — especially women
  • Balanced, where growth lifts everyone, not just a few
  • Climate-resilient and planned with intent, not patchwork fixes

If They Wrote Bengaluru’s 2035 Manifesto
