Welcome to the very first Grove update from Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) - India!
At WCS-India, we are committed to conserving wildlife and wild places through science-driven action, policy advocacy, and strong community partnerships. Our work addresses critical challenges such as habitat loss, poaching, illegal wildlife trade, and human-wildlife interactions. By working closely with government agencies, conservation organizations, researchers, and local communities, we strive to create meaningful and lasting impact.
Conservation is a collective effort, and the people we collaborate with—from frontline forest staff to community members and policymakers—play a crucial role in protecting India’s rich biodiversity. Together, we aim to safeguard ecosystems, support sustainable livelihoods, and ensure a future where wildlife and people can thrive.
The support from the Rainmatter Foundation will help us scale up research and conservation on human-wildlife interactions in urban spaces, foster partnerships with key stakeholders, and develop innovative solutions that contribute to better conservation outcomes in India’s rapidly expanding cities.
Stay tuned for more updates on our work, our people, and the partnerships that make conservation possible!
