#capacitydevelopment | The Gram Vikas Saathi Fellowship Programme builds youth capacities by equipping them with the knowledge and resources to address challenges within their communities.
The programme, which was formalised in 2023-24, acts as the formal mechanism to identify, select and train these people to be change agents in their communities. Through their understanding of local problems and developing solutions for them, the Saathis become leaders who can aspire to work towards more politically active roles starting with the Panchayati Raj Institutions.
The fellowship programme currently has seven thematic areas and a total of 137 individuals working in the following areas:
Participatory planning with local institutions
Village Lekha Mitra - Regulatory & financial recordkeeping
Jala Bandhu - Water and natural resource planning
Pravasi Mitra - Supporting migrant workers
Gram Udyog Mitra - Promoting rural entrepreneurship
Poshan Mitra - Improving nutrition
Yuva Saathi - Fostering youth development
