Hello all,
I am Dhanyashri, Governance Lead at The Pranava Institute, a research organisation based in New Delhi, working at the intersection of emerging technology, policy, society and design to shape sustainable technological futures.
We are currently working on a project titled “Open Source Software for Social Impact Organisations” supported by the Samagata Foundation and Open Source Alliance for Social Innovation and Sustainability (OASIS). Our aim is to better understand how nonprofits in India are navigating their technology journeys, and how open-source tools can support organisations in becoming more cost-efficient, adaptable, and independent in their technology needs and choices.
As part of this project, we are speaking with organisations to better understand:
- How organisations use technology in program delivery and operations
- Challenges in adopting and maintaining digital tools
- Opportunities for open-source solutions in the social sector
- Decision-making processes around selecting and implementing technology
If you work at or with a nonprofit, NGO, or social enterprise in India, we would love to hear from you.
The survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. We would be very grateful for your time.
The findings will contribute to the development of a practical toolkit to support organisations in making more informed and effective technology decisions.

Please feel free to share this with other social impact organisations in your network as well.
Best,
Dhanyashri
