SFC Quarterly Update: Coastal Adaptive Frameworks, Scientific Foundations of NCAP, Energy Transitions in the Buildings and Transport Sectors, and More

Hello,

Across sectors – air quality, coastal resilience, buildings, and transport – policies, targets, and institutions are in place. What is missing is how well these translate into action. A few consistent challenges are that policy designs are often not aligned with implementation realities, data systems are fragmented, and coordination within and across institutions is limited. Our work focuses on understanding and addressing these challenges.

This past quarter, we examined whether the scientific foundations of India’s National Clean Air Programme are robust; whether our coastal adaptation frameworks can handle multiple, compounding hazards; and whether our existing policy instruments are sufficient to scale the energy transition in the buildings and transport sectors. We look forward to your feedback.
