23 years ago, Villgro (then known as RIN South) was set up by the National Innovation Foundation - India and others, to solve for exactly this - build sustainable channels between innovators & underserved markets.
We tried for 10 years, only to realize that our entrepreneurs were too small & there was too little funding. Mind you, this was back in the day before CSR came into the Companies Act or were established by the DST.
All this while this problem persisted.
But now, we feel that it is time.
Things are changing - there are a lot more supporters, across the govt. & private sector. Startup Indiam NABKISAN Finance Limited, Samunnati, Caspian, SIDBI(Small Industries Development Bank of India, Atal Innovation Mission Official, NITI Aayog Official, SBI Foundation] to name a few.
There are startups like Dharmalife, Essmart who have dedicated themselves to becoming these channels!
