Restoring Natural Ecologies 2024

Greetings,

If you haven’t heard already, the Ecological Restoration Alliance is organising the third edition of Restoring Natural Ecologies – our annual conference celebrating ecological restoration in India, from the 27th to the 29th of November, 2024, in Panchgani near Pune.

Philosophy, Practice and Growing the Practice are the themes of our get together this year. We also aim to broaden the conversation and talk not just about restoring forests and grasslands, but other terrestrial ecosystems as well.

We are also inviting proposals for Presentations/Short talks, as well as two participant driven event formats: Talking circles and the Network Mela.

In brief, talking circles are spaces for selected participants to lead a 2 hour session on a restoration/ecology related concept, idea or thought that they’d like to discuss with the community. It can range from best practices in restoration/ecology to the values and ethics one holds close. The network mela, on the other hand, is for selected participants to exhibit a specific body of work that they would like the community to engage with. It can be photographs, artwork, papers, music or any other form of expression. You can get the details and the specifics on the website.

If your work overlaps with ecological restoration, or if you have specific ideas to lead one of the above event formats with, we’d love to see your proposal(s) here.

Please note that this open call is only applicable to those attending Restoring Natural Ecologies '24. This is meant to enable more conversations and discussions in the restoration community.

Registrations for Restoring Natural Ecologies 2024 are also open. Check out the conference schedule and register here.
