Job vacancy (part-time role): coordinator for CEASE (Conservationists and Ecologists Against Sexual Harassment)
Conservationists and Ecologists Against Sexual Harassment (CEASE; cease-india.in) is looking for a coordinator to take forward its mission to make workplaces safer by ensuring that institutions know their obligations, and that individuals are aware of their rights. This is a half-time position (20 hours per week), ideally based in Bangalore, but remote work is also possible. Some travel may be required, which will be covered through an operational budget. Remuneration is between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000 depending on experience.
Essential
- Bachelors degree in any subject
- Fluency in English
- Familiarity with basic computing tools: shared documents, slideshows, etc
- Demonstrable prior interest and engagement with gender issues
- Be able to work independently, be highly organised, and take initiative
- Be able to work effectively with a team
Desirable
- Fluency in another Indian language
- Familiarity with people and institutions working in conservation and ecology
- Social media skills
- Creating simple videos
- An eye for design
- Be conversant with POSH requirements and best practices
Roles and Responsibilities
- Keep CEASE website updated
- Use existing content to create a set of resources that can be used by others – including slide decks, posters
- Maintain a CEASE communications channel, through which to encourage others to take the larger message to their audiences in the form of workshops, discussions, etc.
- Email senior people at NGOs, universities and other institutions with CEASE information and offer help with their sexual harassment policies
- Liaise between those who need information (institutions, individuals) and experts who can provide it (lawyers, etc)
- Help coordinate online and in-person workshops upon request
- Train and supervise volunteers to carry out the above
