The NGO’s played key role in last one decade in our country and across world. With increase need of awareness of capital requirement at this space and to have uniformity of accounting / reporting our regulators have brought recent regulations which will improve the functionalities at Not for profit space.
Recently Security Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued circular No SEBI/HO/CFD/PoD-1/P/CIR/2022/120 dated Sep 19,2022 on framework of Social Stock Exchange https://www.sebi.gov.in/legal/circulars/sep-2022/framework-on-social-stock-exchange_63053.html summarize the expectations of regulator from social organizations and also larger NGO may be called upon to make them public on exchange
Sustainability Reporting Standards Board of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, has published exposure draft on Social Audit standard in Aug 2022 for comments chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://resource.cdn.icai.org/71191srsb57193.pdf
All these bring greater change in coming time the way not for profit organization work and bring a change desired in the country.
