Hi everyone,
I’m Vijayendra, currently based in the U.S., and planning a transition back to India over the coming months.
Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked across program management, field implementation, and research in the development sector. My experience spans large-scale rural development programs with Tata Steel Foundation (impacting 500,000+ individuals), action research on democratic participation with Yuva Shakti, and most recently, leading a multi-country, grant-funded fellowship at Bard College’s Human Rights Project.
Across these roles, I’ve worked in complex, multi-stakeholder environments involving government systems, grassroots organisations, and international partners. A significant part of my work has involved building delivery systems, coordinating across teams, and strengthening monitoring, evaluation, and reporting in resource-constrained and politically sensitive contexts.
As I look to transition back to India, I am particularly interested in roles at the intersection of grantmaking, climate, and systems-level impact. I’m keen to work with organisations that are deploying capital thoughtfully - whether through philanthropy, ecosystem building, or blended finance - to support climate resilience, livelihoods, and equitable transitions.
I would be especially interested in:
a. Grantmaking / portfolio roles in climate and sustainability
b. Program or partnerships roles in foundations and ecosystem organisations
c. Roles that combine strategy, field insight, and capital deployment
Happy to connect with others working in this space, and would greatly appreciate any leads or conversations.
Thanks so much,
Vijayendra
