Hello,
You would have heard the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child.” At YouCAN, we believe it also takes a village to enable an educator—a changemaker—who dares to step outside their comfort zone to make learning about nature meaningful, memorable, and relevant for children.
These educators use their Fellowship not only to grow personally, but to build communities of care and action for a healthy planet.
For us, this village is both national and global.
After the 10-day Sharavathi residency in December 2024, our commitment to our fellows didn’t end—it deepened. Every day, week, and month, we walk alongside them as they stay rooted in their communities, leading their education projects and supporting one another, even across different geographies.
This report shares the story of what they have been up to since that residency. It highlights the first phase of their Fellowship journey—how they have taken their first steps in building community, shaping their ideas, and creating local impact.
We’re thrilled to present their journeys—and ours.
We invite you to read on, reflect, and share your thoughts with us.
Here’s to building healthy, conscious, and regenerative neighbourhoods—together.
Warmly,
Rachita Sinha & K. Ramnath Chandrasekhar
