We are looking for 2-3 student interns to work with Veditum’s team on a new environmental accountability project - Sand Mining Monitoring - focussing on river sand mining activity across India.
Individuals with past experience of working towards the environment / public policy / media (e.g: water, environment, human rights, public policy, journalism, environmental communication etc) will be given preference.
Engagement Type + Duration
This is 1-2 month (based on duration of year end break) internship for students currently enrolled at an Indian university. This is a remote / WFH position, and interns will be expected to work during the office hours: 10am to 6pm | Monday to Friday. Work months: between May, June, July.
We will prefer interns who are able to undertake a 2 month internship.
About the project
The project - Sand Mining Monitoring - aims to build an open archive of all sand mining related activity in India, identifying spatial and temporal trends.
The platform will also work as a capacity building tool for actors who wish to pursue action towards conservation - local action & activism, media action, legal action, academic studies and more.
Roles & Remuneration
We have two roles available:
- Data collection and analysis
- Design and communication
The remuneration for our interns will be ₹10,000 per month.
