In my username here, I’ve likened myself to Earthworms and Fireflies in the hope that my life is as meaningful as I confer meaning to theirs. Of course the personal search for meaning is always a grappling.

Earthworms have been my friends since I’ve composted my kitchen waste for the last 20 odd years. And fireflies became a metaphor ever since that bus ride I took in the hills near Samse (chikkamagalur) - we turned around the bend late dusk, and an entire tree was lit up with fireflies - a magical moment.
