Sense N Sensibility is a lecture series that engages critical questions at the intersection of architecture and social responsibility. The upcoming 24th edition, to be held on 13th August 2026, is titled Designing What Matters: People First. Better Places. Shared Futures. It explores how architecture can move beyond buildings to create meaningful, inclusive, and people-centred environments.
The session brings together Ar. Harshad Bhatia and Ar. Ruturaj Parikh for a conversation on what it means to design with people at the centre of every decision. Through dialogue and discussion, the speakers will examine how architecture can respond to real human needs, everyday contexts, and long-term collective wellbeing. The lecture will introduce students to ways of thinking about design that prioritise usability, inclusivity, and social impact alongside aesthetics and function.

Post-event session of our Universal Design Electives: Chennai 2026
The Chennai Electives held from 27th-30th July brought together over 110 architecture students for an immersive learning experience focused on accessibility, empathy, and inclusive design.
The four-day elective began with a visit to the Museum of Possibilities, followed by workshops hosted at Aalim Muhammed Salegh Academy of Architecture, Mohamed Sathak A.J. Academy of Architecture, and the Saveetha College of Architecture and Design (SCAD), Chennai.
Facilitated by Prof. Kavita Murugkar, Prof. Singanapalli Balaram, and Ms Kavitha Krishnamoorthy, the sessions explored the themes of Sensory Landscapes, The Architecture of Autonomy & Spatial Agility, and Lived Experience & Symbiotic Landscapes. Through discussions, collaborative exercises, and experiential learning, participants examined the relationship while gaining a deeper understanding of inclusive approaches to the built environment.
The Chennai Chapter provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, critical reflection, and interdisciplinary learning, encouraging students to engage with architecture through the lens of participation and empathy. The elective concluded with a shared understanding that thoughtful design is strengthened by inclusion.
