Deeply disturbing that two Bills relevant to India’s environmental regulation are being pushed through without debate and room to include voices from the actual stakeholders!

Over 400 scientists have written to the MoEFCC to withdraw the Forest Conservation (Amendment) Bill, which was passed amid din in LS last week.

The second piece of legislation, the Biological Diversity (Amendment) Bill), now passed in the [Upper House](https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/rajya-sabha-okays-contentious-biological-diversity-bill-101690915990746.html), will mean that AYUSH practitioners and users of traditional knowledge will no longer need to share benefits with local communities.
