The National Conference on Lesser-Known Species is a specialized annual Wildlife & Environmental forum in India dedicated to shifting the conservation spotlight away from “flagship” wildlife (like tigers and elephants) toward overlooked, data-deficient, and highly endangered fauna. Organized by **SNHC India** (Society of Nature Healers, Conservators and Local Tourism Development) in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh State Biodiversity Board, Wildlife Conservation Trust, Wildlife Trust of India, NBA and other prominent wildlife conservation institutions, the event aims to translate scientific field research into actionable management policies and regional conservation strategies.  
Initially launched as a state-centric event in January 2023, the conference expanded its scope into a broader regional gathering. The most recent iteration, the 4th National Conference on Lesser-Known Species of the Central Indian Landscape, was hosted from January 16–18, 2026, at the EPCO Conference Hall in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

This Conference not only grew in number in last 05 Years but also as a community who wish to learn, explore the gap areas and then execute in the field for the conservation of these lesser-known species. This platform also helped NGOs & Professionals explore collaborations and work together, Students & Scholars to seek guidance from the stalwarts & the line departments.
